^ top 1. Why do I need Colonic Irrigation?

The colon, (large intestine) is approximately 2 meters long, it is vital to a healthy life. It is part of the

No and neither is it habit forming. Colonic Irrigation is a completely safe practice. After each session, all disposable equipment is discarded and non-disposable equipment is thoroughly disinfected using hospital approved disinfecting solutions.

^ top 14. Is a colonic painful?

A colonic is not painful. Most people actually enjoy the colonic and are especially pleased with the unaccustomed sensation of feeling lighter and initially cleaner afterward. Sometimes during a colonic, the colon muscles will contract suddenly expelling considerable amounts of liquid and waste into the rectum. This may feel like cramping or gas, and may create a feeling of urgency to empty the rectum. Such episodes, if they do occur, are brief and easily tolerated.

^ top 15. Will I find the process embarrassing?

Not at all. The session takes place in a private room, and a towel is draped over the lower part of your body.
Your privacy and dignity are preserved at all times. In addition our equipment ensures there are no unpleasant smells and odours.

^ top 16. Does the therapy have any side-effects?

Side effects are minimal and different for each individual. Some clients rave about a renewed sense of wellbeing and internal lightness while others experience mild headaches due to the elimination of stimulates such as tea and coffee. The first session lasts a little more than an hour as we collect a brief medical history and explain the process.
Subsequent sessions last about 45 minutes.

^ top 18. What should I eat after each session?

We recommend that, for about 24 hours after your colonic that you treat your colon kindly. We strongly suggest that you drink plenty of liquids and eat pureed food and soups if possible. Steamed vegetables and raw fruit are fine, but reduce your meat intake and avoid nuts.

^ top 19. Would the therapy remove the electrolytes, 'good' bacteria and enzymes in my body?

Loose bacteria will be expelled. The removal of old waste and unfriendly bacteria allows a better chance of long-term colonisation of the colon with good bacteria. In the short-term, the practitioner will recommend the taking of probiotic cultures to restock the colon flora, and a diet which will encourage these good bacteria to multiply.

^ top 20. If I want more information, how can I find it?

Speak to the therapist at Temple Cleansing Studio who can explain more and recommend some books for you to read.
